Jeff P Symonds, AIA

I am a licensed Architect and General Contractor, with over Thirty-one years of hands-on involvement in design, construction, and project management involving residential and commercial projects.

As an Architect, I am licensed in both California and Florida.  I have over 16 years experience in forensic analysis and cost estimating while providing litigation support for both Third Party Liability (CD) claims and First Party Property claims.  I have worked on both plaintiff and defense claim support.

I have over 15 years experience in project management and construction supervision of medical and related Type I projects.  This includes plan check and related coordination with the Office of Statewide Health, Planning and Development (OSHPD).  I have also produced construction documents in CAD for earthquake reconstruction and retrofitting of multi-family residential and commercial projects.

I have been retained as an expert witness on behalf of both the Insured and the Carrier regarding the value of building loss arising from fire, earthquake, hurricane, explosion, vandalism, and construction defect.  I have also been appointed as a carrier selected appraiser for property loss resulting from the Northridge Earthquake in 1994.  I recently spent six months in Mississippi and Louisiana estimating repair costs associated with hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

As a general contractor, I have first hand experience in running my own construction company JPS Contractors (California License # 464085).  Projects were type five construction ranging in size from kitchen remodels and room additions to entire homes.

If you can utilize the services of someone with the level and variety of my skills and experience please contact me at your earliest convenience.  I welcome the opportunity to work with you on your project.
